x = 2b - 1

6b + 2 let's add and substract 3
= 6b - 3 + 3 +2 = 3(2b-1) + 5

f(x) = 3 x + 5

Ask yourself: "What must F(x) be if it is to transform 2b-1 into 6b+2?

You can see that if f(x) = 3x, then F(2b-1) would be
3(2b-1) = 6b-3.

That almost gets you to 6b+2, but you must add 5 to the -3 to get +2. Thus f(x) must be 3x+5.

let f(x) = ax+b
f(2b-1)= a(2b+1) + b
= 2ab + a+b

2a = 6, a = 3!!!
a+b = 2
b = -1!!!
f(x) = 3x - 1

put x=2b-1; b=(x+1)/2
then
f(x)=6(x+1)/2+2
f(x)=3x+3+2
f(x)=3x+5
