I am in such an especially good mood today after the Cards won it all last night. I've been on the other side of a World Series in '04 and '87, and I remember losing sleep over it (yeah, I get into it) then being down for the next day or so. I was in such a good mood earlier that I told the old b*tc*y lady at the gas station to have a great day haha.

This sounds corny, but everyone just seemed happier and nicer today (mostly). All the signs, red shirts out today were amazing. I can't wait for the rally and parade tomorrow. I went in '82 and it was awesome. The weather is gorgeous.

I don't think a lot of people realize what a big deal this is in St Louis, especially to us lifelong Cards fans. Being the "underdog" paid off--the team was reportedly much more relaxed than 2004 and it showed. It was so great seeing the guys with their kids, having a 5'6" guy be MVP, and Tony LaRussa showing his emotions. Having Stan Musial throw out the first pitch was good luck, too.

All the fair weather fans and a few writer and broadcasters sure changed their tune. :) How about all those folks who wanted to fire LaRussa?

Every Cardinals fan (especially the nay-sayers) should donate to Cardinals Care or ARF in honor of Tony LaRussa and the 2006 Cardinals.

I don't agree with Bernie Miklasz all the time, but his column today was really good--he mentioned what I had been thinking--that Jack Buck and Darryl Kile were right there last night.

I don't even know what mood I'm in, I kept telling myself that Cards will win in 5 but I don't think I ever truly believed it until last night.... You know how sometimes you lie so much you almost believe it, well this was the opposite, I believed so much it was almost a lie (of course in the end it really wasn't) but Hey this is my first World Series victory to witness by the Cardinals, Not old enough to have seen '82...

WOOOOHOOOOO! YEAH!! A team that won 83 games, had three losing streaks of eight games or more, and backed into the playoffs by losing on the last day of the season has won the World Series!! The best team in baseball -NOT!!!

They should be thanking the Tigers for sweeping Oakland and not playing in a week.

A crappy team like the Cards in the series, and people wonder why no one watched. What a crock. Just proves that unlike the NFL and NBA, the best team doesn't win in baseball anymore, just the one that is playing better at the time or a lucky one.

Fantastic!! I'm a lifelong fan of the Cardinals. It feels great to have them prove to the world that they are indeed the best Baseball team on the planet this year. They deserve all of the credit for a great season and postseason.

its about time that they won...my husband told me in 2004 that if the cardinals were to win, he would get a tattoo to show his pride, he even signed a paper saying he would...( a little info on my husband, he hates needles, has no piercings and no tattoos)
so for him to say he would get a tattoo when they won was a shock to me, ( i have 5 tattoos myself )

last night when i was watching that last pitch, i told him that he better be prepared to have his a** branded soon cuz they are about to win...he actually seems excited to get one now with STL on it..

i was trying my hardest not to fall asleep, it was 1130pm here on the east coast...when i saw that last strike out i about fell over...so yes, it was a very happy morning for alot of us
