The Best & Lease expensive of all is the use of a simple toilet plunger. If you have a double sink with only 1 trap under it, you will have to plug the oppisite side with something (a wet rag works well) and plunge away! It make take 2 persons, 1 to hold down the plug and 1 to do the plunging. Also, plungers work best under water, then you get the hydraulic effect, whis is very powerful, so be sure to have water in the sude that you are plunging.

Hardware and home improvement stores sell a "boot" that attaches to your garden hose. I'm not sure of a brand name, but it may be what the guy in a previous answer refers to. When you put it in a pipe and turn the water on, it inflates to seal the pipe and sprays high-pressure water into the pipe to dislodge the clog. If you've disassembled your trap and found it clear, and there's no clog in the pipe going into the wall (chase it through with a short plumber's snake or--if its really short--a coat hanger) then drop this device into your roof vent past where the pipe in the wall 'tees' in. You can judge how deep to lower it into the vent by measuring the verticle distance from the trap to the top of the vent, then put a corresponding strip of tape around the hose at the appropriate length (leave a little extra hose; if the boot is above the tee, it could spray back into your sink). It's useful to maintain voice contact with a helper in the kitchen just in case.

If its severely clogged the best thing to do is take the drain pipe out and clean it out manually. A favorite spot for clogs to develop is where the under sink drain meets the drain pipe.

hi dsedaris.that's not the form of huge subject.under your sink you will see a u-formed pipe. This pipe would have a hexagon nut on the perfect and one on the backside.Get a pipe wrench and unfasten them off.The u-pipe will come off particularly now.do away with th e u-pipe and you will discover this is clogged with oatmeal and can be particularly wiped sparkling.that's fairly useful to bypass outdoors to do this with the intention to no longer clog yet another sink.as quickly as wiped sparkling it may now get replaced and" poof",Bobs yer uncle, yer executed.wish this became helpfull.sturdy success inclusive of your upkeep.Barney

Not a product but and this is going to sound hard but taking apart your pipes and cleaning them out. I am no plumber and would have never tried this had an occurance at work thrust me into doing it. It's really simple to do and will work.
