No, sound is energy. It propagates (travels) through compounds and other types of matter though in the form of waves.

Sound is not a matter to be made up of compounds. It is caused by movement of the air. It is a wave moving in the air not a matter.

No, sound is made up of waves. Humans can only hear waves between 20Hz and 20kHz. Dogs can hear much higher frequencies for example -- that's why we can't hear a dog whistle but dogs can.
Lower frequencies are considered bass (deeper voices for example), higher frequencies are treble.
