I don't agree with this statement. I think it is the time in an American teens life where they have the least amount of accountability and responsibility. For some the freedom to make choices doesn't stay open beyond high school. It could be argue that in high school the choices you make can lead to some dismal places or to some stellar ones depending on your choices. Many people would argue that at 30 and beyond you have already made choices that don't give the open possibilities that were available a decade earlier. Just some thoughts. Good luck on your essay.

Childhood is the best time of life, I believe. You don't have to worry about boy-girl stuff, you can be yourself, can do any silly thing and people just expect it, cause you are little. In teens you get involved in rivalries over silly things, have to worry about your appearance all the time, worry about not being popular, or whether your boy friend loves you....I would be a little kid about 7 if I could go back....but I am 60. No going back. Getting older is kind of good too, cause people don't expect much from us either.

that's a tricky question humm well i guess it was the worst and the best part of my life i mean u got the constant embarrassment that most high schoolers deal with but u got that ego always with u i guess that always repairs the damage and u got friends always a plus(endless fun) and a minus(drama 'u stole my boyfriend, h**') that sort of thing but just say that the statement is both true and false and explain why u feel that way and u'll do fine

They probably want an affirmative statement to your question. The truth, just speaking for myself now, it was the worst part of my life. Good Luck.

no. not in our culture anyway. Adolescents are physically capable of doing so many exciting things: like having sex, bearing children, and engaging in risky physical activities (like hunting, war, sailing, vigilantism) that are not appropriate for them because of our economic and social structure. The substitutes for these activities that we offer them, like sports, dating, and shopping are much inferior to the basic drives.

I really feel sorry for anyone who feels it is. For me and just about every adult I know it was the worst time of my life.
