Common sense is the answer drawn from the experience and knowledge an individual has. It is direct and uncomplicated by the 'knowledge speak' of the educated. The educated can of course have common sense but all individuals must express their 'wisdom' in a straightforward uncomplicated way.
Cut out the bull and go straight to the most simple, sensible and understandable solution ie 'Common Sense'

it is common believe me just most people don't exercise it because they are taught to achieve get the most be the best and to achieve this you have to be right every time and common sense does not matter
while achieving this endless goal simple common sense goes out the window until the day there is something drastic happens heart attacks strokes a major event and it comes back why didn't i think i should of done that if only to late a little common sense would or could of avoided the situation

Stupid name for something that isn't common at all. Most people don't have the sense that god gave a dog and a dog is at least smart enough to use!!! I prefer the term street smarts (vs book smarts) and I don't think most people have that either. It seems like most humans value the education but not the intellect!
Books are great but unless you know how to use knowledge, it's rather useless to acquire it or brag about it. If you can't find your own way out of a simple dilemma (which most people cannot,) then you need to get real about your wisdom. Common sense is not common at all, too bad.

"common sense" something that we all think a like. Say, when you about to go out in a rainy day, either you pick up rain coat or hat or umbrella. It is a common sense that we all think. We need to do something to protect from the rain. A common sense people deal with. I have heard my mum telling me " use your common sense". A action that all people would do same.

The term "common" as used here goes back to the past when most people were uneducated. Common refers to the common uneducated masses of people. They didn't have fancy book learning, but they had the street smarts of the common people - thus common sense.

It is called "common" not because everybody has it or shares the same sense, but because it is an "uneducated" knowledge... i.e. you don't have to have an MBA to know that water is wet and jumping in a puddle will wet you. therefore, everybody "can" know that without resorting to books or knowing how to read the instructions. when all else fails and the instruction manual is not helping, plug it in - that is "common sense"
