A muslim man already serving time for gang-raping girls in Sydney, Australia said a second case that his Muslim upbringing led him to believe he had the right to rape girls who were not veiled. He and 9 other muslim guys raped a 14 year old girl who was on her way home from shcool.
Why don't "moderate" muslims try to stop this kind of brainwashing of young men? Why do muslims never speak out against this kind of behavior?

My question was why "moderate" muslims don't take public action against this kind of mindset. Instead of saying there are rapists who belong to all religions, which is true, why don't moderate muslims try to address the teachings that give these young a RELIGIOUS justification for raping strangers? I don't know of any other religion that does that. Maybe you do -- please tell me if you do.
Also, This is not the same case as the mufti who preached that unveild women are like meat.

If you are seriously expecting the moderate muslims, then surely you are also expecting all other faiths to stop this behaviour.
A bizarre question at such a sensative time.

I think you'll find that the man in question was playing on the fact the Muslim religion is very much in the public eye at the moment. I don't agree with a lot of the Muslim culture, but to be honest, think that this guy is speaking s_it!
I've read up a little about the religion, and don't believe that Muslim men are brain washed! Everyone in there right-mind knows right from wrong, religion aside!

I think most moderate muslims are equally horrified by this .... no-one is entitled to rape anyone, not in a civilised world.
But it is very sad that there is this awful double standard. When a victim cannot escape her (usually) attacker, and is raped, then in some cultures she has brought dishonour on her family .... this is so fucked up, so wrong, a rape victim is just that, a victim. So on top of having to cope with the physical, mental and emotional trauma of the rape itself, the family turns around and says that she's a bad person to get herself raped.

To be fair though, men of all races and religions have committed rapes, and they always have some lame excuse like 'she was asking for it...',I don't think it is something that is exclusive to Muslims, and I think they are getting a lot of knocking when there are people of all religions who do bad things. Not all Muslims are bad!
Please note, I am definitely not excusing this, it's sick and wrong, I just want to point out that people from all walks of life have done the same thing.

Because they are too busy saying they are right. A report in todays' paper says that of 1600 mosques in the UK, over half do not allow women to pray. It is a religion that is based on mysogeny.
It is almost impossible to prove rape under muslim law. Great religion eh?

Some muslim men think that all muslim girls and women need to wear the hijab (the veil) but the women feel that is to old fashioned and refuse. The muslim men feel it is their place to make a woman bow down to them and do exactly as they are told to do or suffer the consequences.
I was raised muslim. My father is Muslim my mother is catholic. My dad told me to wear the hijab when I was growing but I refused. I got a few beatings for it but I never bowed down to his old country ways. I have converted to christianity many years ago.
It is the muslim faith of the old country that makes women inferior to their spouses that is why most of them that live here are being dragged back to the old country so that the men have power over their women. Here it is called domestic abuse and you go to jail for it. There they don't.

They do speak out... but as everyone seems to be against muslims nowadays, propaganda means that we only get to see what they want us to see. The government decide what we get to see on television.
There are extreme cases in every religion.
How many famous murderers & rapists names can you think of.. how many of them have muslim names?
As i said.. we will only ever hear what they want us to hear!
Everyones always out to blame the unpopular religion of the time. But theres good and bad in every religion, everywhere you will ever go. A good muslim wouldnt do that, just like a good christian wouldnt do it either.

The thing that is so heartbreaking about this is that the little girl was not deserving of this, no matter what. It is hard for me to understand any religion that would tell their boys that this kind of treatment of girls is ok. In this county, it is illegal to engage in any kind of sex with a minor. And no matter what your religious beliefs, you still have to follow the laws of the country you live in. I hope they go to prison for a long, long time and let that be a lesson to others who would even think of doing this to some little girl.

I am sure that he is using his religion as an excuse for his inexcusable behavior. They need to go to prison, I just hope that no one uses this story as an excuse to hate Muslims! Since it surely NOT the majority of Muslims that commit these horrendous crimes.

It's amazing how many so called professional Asians get nicked for similar crimes.I'm thinking doctors who grope female patients, who check "grope" their breasts when they complain of having a sore throat, who grope the tops of their thights to check for a sore foot. Perhaps it's because their own women are wrapped from head to foot in shapeless gowns and veiled. methinks they are frustrated.
