I don';t know if it is a written law or not but there is slavery in several countries, Africa has a slave trade and it is alive and well,
the middle east has slaves, and the authorties turn a blind eye to them, Indo china has had slaves and some of our captured military ended up there in slave camps and are probable still there,

saudi has slaves, there are tons of muslims who get deported from America, because they bring their child servants with them, and they get caught. like 10 yr old girls, who cant go to school or anything, even while living in America!
Many liberals dont realize that slavery was and still is big business to the arabs.

I don't know about legal, but I know that it is widely practiced in the Sudan.
