We have a fancy dress party to go to in February, and my husband and son want to go as Dr. Evil and Mini Me! The problem is that although I can find a costume for my husband, I can't find anything for my 10 year old son! I'm no seamstress and would struggle to make my son a costume. Does anyone know where I can get a child's Dr. Evil / Mini Me costume? Better still is there anyone out there who has one they would like to sell?

Well, you might be able to get a local tailor to take on the project. It might not be as expensive as you think. Another idea is to get another adult Dr. Evil suit, and have the tailor do alteration It should be a relatively simple matter of hemming the pants (get a really good belt, though!), and hemming the sleeves -- and taking in the back seam. The collar would be kind of a pain, but it's a mandarin collar, isn't it?

If your son was 5, it'd be a lot harder to alter, but at 10, the kid is probably big enough to make it worth considering.

Good luck! (-: I can't help wondering what you are going as (-:.

The simplest approach of course would be a robed wizard of either side of the magical mirror. Keep in mind, the costume is just the drerssing and your attitude/convictions will make it convincing. Great thing about Hallowe'en is that you are not gender restricted as you can select either one or meld the best or worst aspects into something quite colorful and androgynous. If you are a horror movie fan, trot out a favorite such as the George Romero "Night of the Living Dead" classic which this year celebrates 40 years of scaring American audiences as you can be hero or Zombie adversary and have a great time.
