OBVIOUSLY short and glorious! Who in their right mind would ever want to be miserable. But I'll bet if you got an HONEST answer from anyone nearing death, it would be the long and miserable choice. I'm not sure any of us truly value our own life as much as we could. One GOOD thought, you can always make your life less miserable, but you have no control over the length!!!!!

Hi! You addressed your question in Philosophy that means you know the rule of LOGIC. So lets break down your question in this way that I suggest:
A.Would you rather?
B.Would you rather live …
C.Would you rather live a long but miserable life…?
D.Would you rather live a a short but glorious one?
E. Would you rather live a long but glorious one?
Okay! Now repeat part "A" numerously:
A.Would you rather?
A.Would you rather?
A.Would you rather?
A.Would you rather?
A.Would you rather?
A.Would you rather?
A.Would you rather?

YOU certainly discovered that " OHHHH I HAVE POWER TO " MAKE A DECISION"!
AND a man who has power to Make a Decision...
Certainly would select the best of best for his/her life which is: "E"

"Live a long and glorious one"
Therefore your question "technically" has error of Law and Fact.

Neither
A long productive life. Discovering the small joys and having a loving relationship.
The older you get the more you realize that glorious comes in small packages. That is if you have situational awareness.

Neither. I would rather live a long, fulfilling, meaningful life. And I would venture to say that deep inside every human being would want this too.

"Better to burn out than to fade away..."
Kurt Cobain of 'Nirvana'
But, everybody chooses his/her way.
Most importantly-take care of your liver (if you're going on a journey).
