ipod, best buy warranty....?

can you tell me how te best buy warranty works for an ipod?
do i need the box and everything with it?
and i droped my ipod on the sidewalk a couple time, and the code on the back is barely visible...do u think they'll take it?

i need to know EVERYTHING about the warrenty for an ipod....
