yah ive got a 94 intreped,3.5 litre the engine is sweet only have 100000 miles on it my freaking tranny went out after having the fluid & filter changed. i love the car is sweet, so is 1600.00 to much to put a Rebuilt Transmission? any feed back would be great. i've been told many times that the transmissions are nothing but junk, now i mean they are going to disasemble the one in it, rebuild it from scratch. the man from the transmission shop told me,i'de be able to get at least another 80000 miles on a rebuilt transmission. i swear the car is like a four wheel drive in the snow. so i wanna keep it as long as possible

do it ! my wife's car is a 94 with the 3.3 and we have 220,000 kilometres on it and it's a champ. glad to hear it's good in snow, i just moved her from the west coast to the prairies and she is paranoid about snow. i think the biggest part is the engine faces the "right way " so the drive axles are the same length .

And don't get any more filter and flush or what ever they do. Did check your tranny fluid and find it discolored or what was the reason ?? Did you watch the work being done ?? Changing fluid and filters is a money maker for the shop and a total waste of money for the customer. If your tranny is working properly and the fluid is not discolored, leave it be. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.
