my 2000 p/u with 6.0 eng. will not restart after about an hour of driving unless you let it sit for 10-15 minutes. It has fuel, it wants to start on the start position of the ign but when you release to the run position it dies. There is a coil per cyl., and I have already replaced the ign. relay in the fuse box. If I drive it short distances, like around town it works just fine, this only occurs on longer trips of 30-60 miles. Just started happening last week. None of the warning lights are coming on. Also, maybe coincidence, but this has occured the day after gassing up the truck as well. twice. Can you give me any sort of ideas????

you will need a wiring diagram for this one but sounds like your ignition switch is bad. when you release the key to the run position, the way you discribe it, its losing power and the engine dies. does everything else work with the key in the run position ???
