Why shouldn't they?? AND, I won't take "Because they're ugly" as an answer. Large women were and are admired by artists because they're beautiful...I will admit, however, that the statement I just made doesn't fit ALL large women...but still, there's no humane reason why people should hate fat people.

BTW, I'm not saying we should "coddle" them. It is a serious issue, but what I'm saying is that making fun of them doesn't help; it can in fact make it worse. They could become bulimic or eat more. No reason why we should pamper them, obviously, but I'm just saying that more people shouldn't care what someone looks like and judge them like that.

I've never hated large people, I like to go by the saying you can't judge a book by its cover. I think the people who make fun of others are insecure about themselves and do it to so they feel better.

It is really sad when people judge other based on looks. I have stocky friends, they struggle with it everyday. It isn't easy....Heavier women also can be a plus size model, so I think there needs to be more of that in mags and on TV. I am not overwieght, but I do try and put myself in their shoes. How would I feel if I were heavy??? Would I want to be ridiculed or tease??? Not really. So as the saying goes.....Treat people how you want to be treated. Stop and think before you make a trashy comment about someone else. Whether its being heavy, or something else.....Everyone has an insecurity that they want to hide..........I think everyone should be accepted...We are all the same....We all have our own beauty.

I have people that are big in my family and yes I am a little bit big too. There is NO reason why people that are big should get made fun of. I have a friend that is bigger than me and she wants to kill herself sometimes because of the mean things that people say to her. By the way big people have feelings too.

Well considering most Americans are Fat, we really should accept each other. Of course most of the world doesn't like Americans.... maybe its because we are fat.
Actually your predjudice is showing here. Fat people are accepted all the time. As I was growing up, the funniest and funnest person I knew was my neighbor across the street. She was 4 yrs older than me and weighed around 300lbs in highschool. She was well accepted, and still is.
We have people on TV that are fat, we have politicains that are fat, teachers, policemen, and doctors. Fat people are accepted all over the world.
But being fat doesn't make you automatically accepted. Nor does being thin. It matters more about who you are as an individual.

There is no ethical reason why they shouldn't be. However, biologically they are not, which also can account for why they are not accepted into society- subconciously they are rejected. Also, altghough it seems cold- its the same reason many people were killed in WWII- eugenics.
Generally speaking, they are not good specimens of mankind

There's no reason they should hate fat people but there's also no reason why people should coddle them either. By saying that it's okay to be fat we are saying that it's okay to disrespect your body and to be unhealthy. We should encourage people to take better care of themselves, not to continue to slowly kill themselves. Wouldn't you agree?

We live in a very appearence-oriented society. Anyone who doesn't fit the accepted attractiveness mold is unacceptable.

Overweight peeps shouldn't be rejected it is what is inside that counts!i am so sick and tired of overweight girls not getting dates because they aren't skinny !they ar all beautiful!

i think people are being more accepting of all type of people. from extremely skinny and fatty, and openly gay and lesbian, and mixed races and non. people are accepting of people with disabilities and diseases.
be there are those few who dont, and thats because they have problems with theirselves on the inside, whatever those problems are causing it to reflect in the ways that they view others.
