It varies, some boarding schools in the UK are very selective. Most, however, are less so.
If you do so you should choose a school which runs an IB program which is more similar in character to the US system (and better than A levels anyway).
Oh and it helps if you can write large cheques.

It depends which school you attended here, if it was a top school, you have good grades, it should not be that difficult. The Schools, especially private schools in Europe and the UK have a more advanced curriculum, especially in Literature, History, Science and Mathematics.
