I have been married 20 years now, we bought our first house 16 years ago my husband was originally from Mexico where he had nothing, and since we bought the house he had started going to auctions, garage sales and bought so much stuff that we don't even use and i have never parked in the garage as it is full of junk, I can't take it anymore and when I try to discuss it with him it always leads into a fight, Can someone give me advise????

Usually the accumulation(hording) goods, is due to childhood of not having stuff, like you said. If you can possibly get him to a therapist to address his insecurities, that everything is going to be okay... he should be able to stop. Of course, it's easier said than done.

Send him away for the day or weekend then remove all the important items from the garage that you need to keep then have a indoor garage sale, selling everything for like $3 each. You can get rid of the junk and make a little change at the same time.

Warn him that if he doesn't clean up, you will throw it all out one day.
So then one day that he is gone all day, get your kids if you have any and clear it all out. Have a garage sale or throw it all out.

Or you can Pray about it. Prayer is very powerful if you have Faith and believe.

God Bless U!

I get my things out of the way first, then ask him to help me get it done. He actually like to get things organized so he knows where to find all the tools, etc.
