I've heard Ben Franklin, World War One had something to do with it, but I really don't know for sure? Anyone know?

Ben Franklin Proposed the idea back in the Revolutionary era, as a means of allowing people to adjust their schedules to the change in the amount of waking daylight they had. the idea was not instituted until WWI, when it was set to 1 hour back in fall, and 1 hour ahead in spring time.

As I under stand it Franklin's original idea involved three 20 minute shifts over six weeks each season. 3 forward in spring and 3 backwards in fall achieving the same effect.

Starting nest year it will be expanded by four weeks, with the Spring forward happening 3 weeks earlier and the Fall back being a week later than we currently do.

and I believe certain parts of Indiana, and all or part of Arizona do not adjust for daylight savings

Ben Franklin proposed it. It is used to give farmers more daylight to get their Field work done during the planting, growing, and harvesting seasons.

yes we know for sure.

Ben Franklin came up with the idea in the 1770's and we started actually using it in the 1920's.

Its not like it started 1000's of years ago. its all in recorded history. Its in the history books.
