Well, if your labtop detected and installed the correct drivers for your wireless card, then it should be no problem.

Turn on the wireless router and make sure that there is an internet connection working on it - it should be a DSL connection - and go to the Control Panel you should find Wireless Network Setup Wizard. This applies to Windows XP Service Pack2.

Incase if you don't have SP2, then go to network connections and start the wizard as creating a home network and it should detect it correctly.

Wish you a Good Luck there.

Your Wireless Router should be with default settings. No wireless encryption is a must.
After Adapter is installed, go to start> control panel> network connections (or network and internet connection> network connections) and double click Wireless Network Connection. Select your connection and connect to it.

If it extremely is modern-day yet no longer working then delete it in device supervisor and restart the pc. it would then be detected and re-put in whilst the pc restarts. If the cardboard isn't exhibiting in device supervisor then the least difficult selection could be a USB prompt adaptor. those do no longer value lots.
