Even if you hadn't been late, the pill isn't 100% effective. The only sure thing is absinence...so the possibility is there.
But assuming your pill is effective, you should go read the little papers that come with the pack each month. It will tell you what to do if you miss a pill or are late, and to give you a better idea of your chances.

Assuming you are taking a regular kind of birth control pill not an extreme low dose or progesterone only pill, it is possible, but not probably. You *may* want to use another form of birth control for the rest of this pack.

If I were you I would continue taking it 10 hours after your usual time (but close to the same time every day) until you finish this pack. Then when you start the next pack start at whatever time you want.

Try to find something in your life you do at the same time each day. Or buy a watch with an alarm feature. When I was on the pill I usually kept them in my purse or wallet just in case I wasn't home.

If you really want to avoid pregnancy you *may* want to consider taking the morning after pill if it is legal where you are. It is effective up to 72 hours (though best if taken within 48). Consult a doctor/nurse/pharmacist first though. Planned Parenthood is a good source of info if you have them near you.

Obviously if your period doesn't come when you are done with the pack, it is a lot lighter than usual or you have other symptoms take a pregnancy test.

Good luck

It's unlikely but not impossible. However, since you were late two days running you may want to use back-up bc (Condoms!) for the rest of the pack. Another thing to consider would be getting some Emergency Contraception (morning-after pill) at your friendly neighborhood Planned Parenthood. It is most effective when taken less than 72 hours after unprotected sex, so, yanno, hurry.

If you have trouble remembering to take your pills, it might be helpful to think about going on the patch, or the Nuva-ring, or getting a wristwatch alarm set to 6 am.

If the pill is less than six hours late, then it should be fine. Having a pill any later than this is quite dubious, but I used to be really lax about taking my pill at the same time, until I started having regular sex with my boyfriend. Even then, taking my pill slipped my mind a couple of times, and so far I've been fine (touch wood!).

I shouldn't worry too much about it, but if in a couple of weeks you start having symptoms, missing your period during your seven-day break being the most obvious, go and see your doctor.

I wouldn't think that your pregnant, because i have missed two pills one time because i went away for the weekend and forgot to bring them (stupid i know) and me and my boyfriend had sex the whole weekend and i was fine. But if your not sure and your worried then do a pregnancy test. One time my doctor stressed at me that your pills should be taken each day at the right time as one egg could squeeze out, since then i take it on time!!!! Good Luck

Call 1 800 848 5683 - national free pregnancy hot line - they have good information for you.

about unprotected sex, please be advised: THERE ARE OVER 50 SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES COMMON TODAY -
most have no symptoms
most have no cure
some cause cancer
some cause lifelong damage
some can kill your baby if the doctor does not know you have it
you can have all 50 at the same time
condoms do not protect you, even latex

if you have had 1 sexual partner then you have been exposed to 1 person

if you have had 2 sexual partners you have been exposed to 3 people

if you have had 3 sexual partners then you have been exposed to 7 people

if you have had 4 sexual partners then you have been exposed to 15 people

if you have had 7 sexual partners then you have been exposed to 127 people

if your partner has has 7 sexual partners and you have had 7 sexual partners - the number of exposures is frightening!!!

biologically, when you have sexual contact, you have having sex with every diseased person your partner ever had sexual contact with.

you can get a sexually transmitted disease from any sexual contact.

good luck

Check the info in your pill packet. Most Combine pills that I took needed to be taken within 12 hours, so you will be OK.

But the mini pill is only 3 or 4 hours.

You should be fine and not pregnant but if your worried just go to the FP or chemist and have the morning after pill, the pill is never 100% effective. But does work.

Unfortunately the pill is not 100% foolproof...so you could be pregnant just because. The chances are that you are not pregnant from being off schedule because the medicine slowly works its way out of your system. You are really just giving yourself a "booster shot" with every pill.

no cause even if you forget to take it the last pill you took is still in your system it stays their for a day or so so you should be fine as long as you took the next days and even if you are pregnant if you keep taking the pill it would kill the egg so you would be fine anyways
