India and Pakistan and sometimes Burma are termed South Asia (Afganistan and occasionally Iran are sometimes classed here too; Tibet is sometimes gouped with South Asia, other times with Central Asia, and occasionally, nodding to the Chinese hegemony, East Asia). The landlocked nations east of the Ural Mountains and Ural River and running as far as the border of Mongolia/China/Tibet are termed Central Asia.

The Middle East includes all of those Asian nations west of Pakistan and Afganistan, but often does not include Turkey which is off by itself as 'Anatolia'. Those Asiatic nations in the Caucasus mountains are simply termed "The Caucusus".

North Asia is Russian Siberia. Northeast Asia is also Russia.

East Asia or the Far East is China, Korea and Japan.

Southeast Asia covers all the rest of the nations in Asia, to include the Philippines and Indonesia.

Indonesia and New Guinea are sometimes grouped apart.

Hi!

Well if you are asking me its used to segregate countries politically. e.g. the West is Usa and the U.K. etc. And the middle east if Iran,Saudi Arabia, Syria etc. And the far east being korea, china, japan etc.
The middle east was originally the area from Mesopotamia to Burma namely the area between the Near East and the Far East.

India is in the far east not middle east. Other countries in the far east are: bangladesh and pakistan
