I'm sure there are millions of people around the world that think like the Dixie Chicks do, and I'm sure there are plenty in the U.S. too. I was under the impression that freedom of speech was something Americans held dear to themselves but apparently not.
The Dixie Chicks got the hate mail from all the southern hicks that obviously don't have a shred of decency in their bodies. These women are mothers and wives, not to mention American citizens and proud Americans at that. To threaten to take the life of anyone is atrocious, to do so because of something they have every right to do is even more so!

Because, believe it or not, their are a lot of idiots in BOTH parties. I wouldn't go to see one Dixie Chick let alone three even if they DID support the President. I don't suppose, however, that you or they realized that they were alienating their fan base by disrespecting the President that so many of their fans voted for. If they didn't realize that, they should have.
They had problems the first time they criticized the President--and apologized for it. Now, I guess they figure they're right in step with all the other bashers and want to get on the bandwagon again and be chic in their hate. If they felt so strongly about Bush, they shouldn't have apologized the first time. But I guess they felt so alone and were losing so much revenue that they had to apologize to get their fans back. Kinda weaselly, wouldn't you say?
Further, it's not just Republicans doing the threatening. I wonder just how many death threats Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly receive every week. It isn't Republicans doing the threatening then. But I guess those threats are OK by you even though these men are only exercising THEIR free speech. Free speech to liberal Democrats means you can say anything you want as long as you agree with me. Otherwise, you'd better just shut up!

My problem with the dixie chicks is :they are not from dixie, they haven't got a clue what country music is about, they ran their mouth about Toby Kieth's song(Angry AMERICAN) and the song represents what at least 95% of AMERICANS felt like after we were attacked on 911. Then after they did that they got upset because the radio stations wouldn't play their music cause if they did we CHOSE not to listen to the stations. We are the ones who decides the success of musicians and actors and if they are willing to put their political views out there then they need to accept the consequences. And as far as I'm concerned we are in a time of war and the last thing any1 needs to do is SLAM Our country and SLAM Our PRESIDENT.
AMERICA land of the free because of the BRAVE!

The Dixie Chicks are singers and entertainers - not political pundits.
When they choose to enter the ring of political hatred, they ought to know enough to expect some back lash.
In my opinion, both examples (the Dixie Chicks' spouting anti-Bush rhetoric or the death threats that followed) demonstrate pretty immature and ignorant behavior.
And, I fully realize that it's their "right" to shoot off their mouths - but it's also your right to burn an American flag at a veterans' convention - the fact that it's a right doesn't mean a little consideration and tact isn't appropriate.

Putting a leader, any leader before your country, that makes you a sheep, a slave, and an all-out nimrod. And the fact that they did states that there are several people, too many people in this country who represent the above description.

This has happened to some one in every war started by Republicans, no one is suppose to oppose the Administration, to a Republican in not Patriotic . unless there is a Democrat Administration. See what they did to Jane Fonda,
right or wrong our troops die to defend the rights she expressed. And with out that right, we are no better off than the Iraqis before we landed there.

Not as much as liberals attacking the Minuteman founder trying to give a talk in NYC. Whats worse one side sending hollow email threats or one that actually trys to induce harm. Your side loses again.
