I stay near detroit, and I enjoy it there. Unfortunately there isnt much to do that doesnt involve sports or the casino, but I see it making strides to become a better city, and Im glad that something is being done about abandoned buildings. I like detroit...I just dont like people that havent been here who knock our city because of the killings and shootings, when LA is worse and our killings happen in most of the suburban areas, not downtown. Detroit isnt that bad....dont pass judgements!

i lived on the west side of detroit for about 2 or 3 years. i loved it. the thing about detroit is how varied it is and it's got great history. like, i wouldn't be caught down by the greyhound station alone for nothin' but i never had any problems at the lincoln park station that was like 10 minutes or so away...it's a great city. and i wish the tigers had won the series.

i have just returned from a trip that involved staying with friends in north detroit
we did spend a day at frankenmuth which was amazing
however detriot had a lot of things advertised that when we turned up were closed for the season which was rather disappointing
there were some nice parts to our days like ten pin bowling and visiting various craft villages and the like too tho.
more comprehensive street signs to warn of 'michigan lefts' would also have been appreciated

Yes I've been to Detroit and I hated it. It is not a good city. I hope I never have to go again. Very high crime.

i have no problem with it, like most people do. i am so proud of the comeback it is making. LONG TIME COMING (to say the least). i no longer live there, but i am very close. i would move back so long as i was single. not the best school system to raise a family...and i want my children to go to public school.

in the past 10 years i have lived in Pontiac, South Gate, Lincoln Park, Taylor, Dearborn and Canton.
I hate it here, it sucks.
Once I have two years in here, im going to try to sell and never come back to this miserable dump.
