The admissions people want to see that you have been paying attention and gathering ideas along the way. Can you think back and remember a time when you made the teacher pause and say "hey, that's a good point!" THAT'S your essay topic.

Write about studying abroad (either if you already have or wish to in the future). If not, you could write about a cultural experience you had through travel, either in your own country or abroad. The importance of foreign language study also makes a nice topic.
