Yes, relatively easy. You should write down the model of computer you have and take it in when you purchase your new one. Most are IDE, but you will need to know what kind to get and most technicians can help you find out. You can also go to your manufacturer's site and look up the specs on your model. Then buy a similar one, I recommend buying a known brand name such as Western Digital or Seagate. Most come with good, simple instructions.

Yes. There are a number of good hard drives available for retrofitting your PC, and they come with full instructions. Just be sure to buy a reputable brand (Seagate, Western Digital, etc.) in the original box at a good electronics store (Besy Buy, Circuit City, etc.) and follow the instructions carefully.

easier than changing a tire. Unplug the power, open up your system, find the hard drive, unplug the wires that go to it, take it out and then do all those steps in reverse. Setting up the operating system takes time but anyone can do it.

It is very easy if you are technically inclined and you follow instructions that came with your H drive. Mark all jumpers/wires before you pull them off and make sure that you put them back at the same slot/receptacle. Also make sure that you got the right Hard Drive.

yes, there is 1 power cable and 1 data cable, make sure you set the jumpers right on the hard drive.(it shows everything on a sticker) if it's the only one hard drive on your system then set the jumpers as master, if it's 2nd then set it as slave, after you install the hard drive you need to go to bios(usually by pressing 'del' or 'esc' key at startup) and there you can do 'auto detect hd', and that's it..nothing complicated

It is easy but you must take care of few things such as a master slave switch ,and the red line if it "IDE" must be to the power cable and just unplug the old one and plug the new one.

Nope. I had no experience and did just find. If you follow istructions that come with the new one, no problem other than expect some time programing printers and messegers back onto it.
great experience to learn.
