I suppose that most people think in terms of both. Well-written contracts between equals usually are a win-win situation. Howevwer, many things are necessarily win-lose. Imagine a response from John Kerry, Al Gore, Bob Dole, or the Detroit Tigers. They can tell you that in their situation there was no win-win situation at least at their most recent peak public trials. Likewise innocent people imprisoned for crimes have difficulty thinking about that situation in win-win terms.

Win - lose or win-win ...suggests a fight.

Some people are graceful when they fight, and some are not.

There must be win - lose in a race...otherwise we could just skip around the track field....or golf course.....or life!

You must have win-lose, in ordered to be elected to any office, President of the class, Homecoming queen or King, Basketball team must win or lose.....win-win is a tie!
