I don't see the problem. I like my myspace because it's something to do when I have a lot of free time. As long as you don't let it control your life and you maintain a social life, and healthy life outside of myspace I think it's okay. Just don't get carried away like some people do.
I also think it's weird when people have 19,067 friends. Obviously you're friending strangers and that's just weird. I only have 50 some odd friends because they are people I know and bands that I like.
Myspace is good, in small, controlled doses.

Thank you! I think we can group all social networking sites under the same lame pack and diss them altogether as a waste of time and cyberspace.
I feel like they are sites that feed off of the insecurities of people (especially teenagers) in the way they allow people to shape how they look/come off as/etc. I'm not even interested in getting into myspace, and only use facebook to keep up with old high school friends, but even that's rare. Why f*ck around whith posting messages and adding friends when you can just talk to them directly or call them?
Get-togethers, IM and a cell is all we need, really.

Uhh not really. If you have lots of friends,then its great to contact them,and send funny comments,or just say hi once in a while. There is so much to do,comment,blog,share photos,play games,
listen to the latest music. Now sometimes it gets boring,but its fun when there is nothing else to do. Some people do spend their life on myspace,which myspace is great & all,but seriously,people need to find some hobbies to do.

I agree with you 110 percent. Yes its good to find old friends, but most of my old friends have REAL lives and don't have time to fool around on myspace. It's childish and full of attention seekers. Why spend hours adding and talking to ppl who you may not ever meet?
Some people say that yahoo answers is no different from myspace, but on here I don't chat with people I just answer questions and ask questions. It much harder for someone to single me out on here.

Actually I like myspace but I am sure it is because I don't go around geting 4393 friends and not talking to any of them....every person ( but one) on my friend list I have met in person! I only have 30 friends....I know and talk to all of them. That's what it is all about. I have found friends from highschool on there adn that is something that might otherwise have been really hard.
Try not going with the "cyber sl*ut" flo and doing it to talk to your real friends!

ADD ON: It is not dangerous if you use it right....don't give out your personal info like house address and phone number...duh....and you can always set your profile to private so that only your friends can see your profile.
And as for it being for lonely people...I am not lonely...I have plenty of friends...most of them have myspace accounts too so it is another way to keep in touch!

Ok i probably shouldnt be answering this question cause i love myspace its awesome as long as you know how to not talk to the weirdos or spam!! But i do spend alot of time on my page and i get to meet alot of really sincere people on there and its been nice!!! But anyways, i love it and love that i can talk to all of my old school friends that i dont get to see anymore!! So i guess that you can make it out to be whatever you want really but in my opinion its awesome!!!!

Myspace is just a website. I like it because I can stay in touch with my high school and college friends, without the time consumption required of phone calls. But teenagers are obsessed with it, and that IS stupid.

I frickin hate MySpace. I can never get anything to work, or change my settings...and I'm not some computer retard. I know what I'm doing on computers. I especially hate when they say "so and so wants you to add them to your friends list. click here to see their profile and add them to your list" so you click there and it goes nowhere and there aren't any add requests in your account.
I've even sent them a really nasty email which they never responded too.
MySpace should die.

I have never been on My Space. My niece was talking about it negatively today. My children go on "Face Book" instead of My Space. They say it is better.
