Me, too. Outside of discovering that my baby is healthy via testing and ultrasound, I'd like to get to know my baby from my baby, not a machine. Plus, they can be wrong.

I prefer to wait too. It's so much more exciting to keep the sex of the unborn child a mystery until the moment he/she is born. So much more fun to have to choose a name for either a boy or a girl. Why let technology spoil it?

My son.. being the first child to come into my family in 11 years (this was 1987 & he was the first to be born to my generation, I am the oldest child)

My enitre, very large family got very angry at me for deciding (despite that I had a high-risk pregnancy & an amniocentisis, so the doctor had 100% accurate info) that I DID NOT WANT TO KNOW..

I wanted it to be like it was for my Mom & my grandmas... to know when the baby got there.

Family members even tried calling the doctor to find out; thankfully, my privacy as a patient was respected & we all got to find out when he came into this world

I will add that within 8 weeks of being pregnant I felt very certain I was having a baby boy & that gut feeling proved to be correct

There have since been 5 kids born to my sisters.. all baby girls & all known ahead of time

I would prefer to know. I did not want to know with my first child and the surprise was fun but after that it is not a big deal. with my other I wanted to know to prepare and not struggle with picking out names for both sexes. I found it is easier to know, you have all you need bought and a name. with all 3(well 2 cause still pregnant with 3) all i cared about at birth was the health, the sex did not matter.

I found out for all 3 of my kids. They are all girls. I found out because it makes more sense when it comes to shopping and more importantly when others are shopping for you. If someone chooses a green or yellow (which really are the only neutral colors) that are too dark then it looks boyish. It's better when babies are small to keep to pink or blue unless of course you don't mind going to the grocery store exhausted from having a new baby and answering the question, "Boy or girl" about 10 times. People love babies and will ask constantly.

Not to know! Do you remember when you were a kid, and you'd go looking for your Christmas presents all through December? How frustrated were you when you found them and couldn't play with them for fear of being found out? And what an anti-climax Christmas day was, when you already knew what was under the wrapping paper? I imagine its like that, only more so. But thats just my opinion.

I also feel that if mother Nature wanted us to know, she would have made it obvious.

We have 3 boys and with our first my husband was adament he did not want to know the sex. Until one day we were out shopping and they had some GREAT deals, we are both bargain shoppers, and we realized the opportunity we were missing to prepare for the baby without spending a lot of money. I guess if your finances are not a concern it doesn't matter.

For my first child, I wanted to wait. But with my second child, I wanted to find out so I knew whether to get rid of my girl clothes and buy boys or if i could keep the girls clothes. And with my third one, still pregnant now, I will hopefully find out with my ultrasound on the 21st. Good luck hun!
