I'm 5'9', know most the plays, and make most shots I shoot, but I still dont get to start! The person that jumps is shorter than me, doesnt know some of the plays, and, lol, is WAY to nice, I mean, being nice is a good thing, but she just gets pushed around! Is it fair???

well it doesnt sound fair...but it cannt b unfair either...there has to b a reason...mayB she hustles more than you...or does some of the little things more and the coach likes that... talk to your coach and ask what you can improve on so you can start...and since your the tallest one on ur team you should have a good chance at starting as long as you talk to him, listen to him, and then improve on what he tells you too

Here's the real question, because you remind me of myself tallest person, I know all the plays but I do start so in a way you don't. Do you think its fair you're not giving this girl a chance? I think your coach is trying to get her out of the nice phase. Do you play at all? If so you should be thinking about why some people don't get to play AT ALL and helping them get a chance to play. Because I've learned its a team experience its not whether you start or not, but its whether you help your team win even if that means you don't play at all. I was captain of my team and that's what I got out of it. I don't play basketball anymore its my 9Th grade year I tore my ACL in my 8Th and I don't want to go through that pain, so just play your game don't worry about starting.

What's your D like? What about your physical conditioning? Take a look at what style the team plays in. It may be that your style of play doesn't fit it as well as hers. The coach is doing what they do to make the team coheasive.
It may be that you are more valuable leading the second unit. Sometimes a coach wil look at playing a weaker player with other good players to cover up their weaknesses. That might be what's going on with the other player. Or it could be that there are issues with the second unit that the coach needs you to cover.
The coach will be looking at all 5 of you working in unison to win ball games, not on showcasing one player.

t isnt fair, but it is. maybe there is some areas she excells in, and others u excel in. she may get the team a good start, but u may be the one who gives the team the strong finish. if this doesnt help, try talking to your caoch.

No, it's not fair. You should speak up for yourself and have a talk with the coach.

if everything uve said is true then its simple, NO, this is not fair, i think u should talk to ur coach about this. Just talk to him/her in a calm manner so that u dont upset them. Also its not who starts the game, as long as u finish the game when its a tight finish.

But do you finish the games? If so, then it doesn't matter if you start since crunch time is in the 4th quarter and that's when the players play.
