Don't be ridiculous. Republicans are AGAINST big spending. Are you implying that they're hypocrites?

No. It's always been interesting to me that the Democrats have always had this reputation. Maybe it's what the Democrats prefer to spend our money on; e.g. education, health care, and the environment.
In doing this, many people feel that money is being wasted. These are costly programs. But I sure can't see that the Republican president and congress has done a whole lot for anyone other than those who are already rich.

No. Last night there was a show about the "Republican Revolution" and how much these guys spend for their pet projects -- there were over 6,000 write in spending projects on a bill Bush just signed into law, billions being wasted. (Remember the bridge leading no where in Alaska? Senator Stevens has so much power that he still got the $$$$$$$$$$ for his state.) That's how these guys keep getting back to D.C. - they tell their constituents, "Look what I got for our district and/or state...." Disgusting.

It's hard to disagree with facts, but there are enough nutjob ditto heads on here that will find a way to blame it all on Clinton. God knows that 6 years isn't quite enough time for a one party system to change anything.

How can you disagree? Which ever party is in power are going to be the big spenders. If the Democraps get the majority, our taxes will go out of sight, spending will break the bank.

Conservatives are against big government, and it looks like the majority of republicans in office aren't conservative. I agree they are spending money like Paris Hilton and someone needs to get it under control.

Disagree with the republicans, or the US Treasury? Historically republicans have massively increased this country's debt and democrats tend to balance the budget.Have a nice day and please vote.

in response to voycinwil... (yeah I just copied and pasted that. I'm lazy; get used to it) I once saw on the news, or maybe it was 20/20, I can't remember, but there are projects that occur near the property of congressmen that raise the value of their property, and then they sell it off for profit, while continually saying that its for the benefit of society..........(Apparentlly those in congress are the only ones that matter in our society)

For as long as bush has been in office, he has never vetoed
bill for spending. Bridges to no where, monument for the
people who built the crappy, failed, New Orleans levees -
quite unbelievable!

now compare that to the Economy of the country while they are in office. to measure the economy one must look at the GDP(Gross domestic Product) and if you look at it proportionally yes they spend more but also the economy is far better!

Alas, they are correct. It pains me to think one of the reasons I'm a republican was because I believe in fiscal responsibility.
