what happens when the earth is unsuitable for life and you haven't broken out of the cycle yet? Would we be born on a different planet? Would we go to nirvana or cease to exist?

I didn't know that it would matter which branch of reincarnation I was asking about. When I asked this question, I was thinking about the Indians' idea.

hello
reincarnation is bound to occur . the difference is that we dont remember our past life.u will be born here only on this earth only and near ur last life maybe within 200 kms. nirvana is too hard to get u have to worship for hundreds of ur life. and u will never cease to exist .
soul is always there and it only changes body.liek we change clothes.
god bless u

I hope you don't take offense, but I have some basic problems with your question. First of all, you fail to specify exactly which branch of reincarnation you mean. The Nirvana comment suggests Indian, but there are are other branches Pagann, for example. And that helps define the question, because which creators are responsible might alter the answer subtly or not so subtly.

Also, its so hypothetical that there is little basis to provide an answer. An interesting imagination trip perhaps, but it is very difficult to come up with a solid answer. All the options you present might be equally viable depending on whether or not any being is in charge of the whole reincarnation deal. Animism might come into play to with some of the reincarnation religions. For example, if life is no longer sustainable, then it is possible that you'd move up from a particle of dust on the wind, to a pebble, to a rock, to a mountain and so on and so forth.

The earth will be suitable for life of some sort for quite some time.

When it becomes inhospitable millions of years from now, reincarnation can take place on other planets.

if the earth would be unsuitable for life, then we will not be on earth because we have a life.. so most probably, we'll be in another planet where the atmosphere and every detail would be like earth. the only difference there is is that the name would definitely not be EARTH..

Is there a finite set of souls? or do we count the 106 billion souls who have ever walked the earth? How many times does a person get to walk the earth? Of those 106 billion souls, how many are walking the earth more than once? Do the lower life forms have souls and, if so, do they 'graduate' to the human soul?

It's a lie, atleast I know I am not coming back here.
UCk, why would you want to leave those you've been longing to get back too?
