My friend is having trouble getting her plumber to sign the warranty for the new boiler he just put in and everyone is telling her not to pay him until he's signed it. She gave it to him to sign, and he gave it back to her folded up but when she looked at it after he'd gone, he still hadn't signed it, just filled in his name and address at the top of the form. He's a Type A plumber i.e. angry all the time, and she's nervous.

LICENSE MY FOOT. HE PROBABLY DIDN'T PULL A PERMIT. I'D CALL THE CITY AND ASK IF HE HAD AND THE INSPECTOR SHOULD COME OUT BEFORE IT GETS TURNED ON. YOUR RECEIPT SHOULD HAVE HIS SIGNITURE AND TELL WHAT HE DID. I DON'T KNOW WHY HE SHOULD SIGN ANYTHING ELSE. ??

The plumber is only responsible for the work he does. The manufacturer is responsible for the product.

He may not have a license to install a boiler. This needs to be brought to his attention first. If he cant produce a license then it would do no good to have him sign it
