Depends on which black people you are referring to many blacks have immigrated here. and many after these many years have mixed with others who immigrated here. 480 years? Time to get over it huh? I think you might be suprised how many whites are decendants of slaves.

their chieftens sold them, or other tribes sold their battle captives.
we brought them over here and ended up letting them all go.

not right away of course, which i will admit was wrong, but it was
over 200 years ago, there is not a white man in this country that held a slave or a black man that was a (legal)slave alive today.

it is about time to put it in the history books and focus on the future. time to make sure that something like this never happens again.

and before i gen any of the " what do you know about it" comments, I am descended from blackfoot Native Americans.
my family was oppressed severly as recently as my grandfather.
and it was not untill the 70's that the government finally passed a law that made our religious beliefs and practices legal.

Apparently, you need to read a basic history book. Black people were kidnapped from their villages in Africa and brought here in chains on filthy slave ships. They were forced to do hard labor on plantations and were given the worst food to eat and the worst living conditions. There was no pay and no time off. They were sold like animals. How could you not know this?

Where have you been? Find a book or a website about the slave trade. Afro-americans were forcibly taken to the US, abused, degraded, used and there is nothing that white america can be proud of at the time

No, the white people went by choice, then they hunted down and forced the blacks over to America to use in the slave trade.

...not only were they forced to come here, the white slave master raped their wives and kids and beat the ones who tried to fight back. Very sad time in history. Then we turn our backs on back men and women. We owe them so much.

They were bought in jam packed overcrowded slave galleys.
