does the xbox games halo 1+ 2 work on xbox 360?

Halo 1+2 will work on the 360 with no additional software. You can also get a software disc from xbox.com that lets you play over 200 original xbox games on the 360. (You'll need the hard drive though)

I am sure halo 2 can be played on xbox 360 but i am not sure about halo 1 but i don't think so.
