Back in the late 80's I read somewhere that the assumed patient zero who brought AIDS out of Africa was a Bi French flight attendant in the mid -late 70's. as to to its ties to the Gay community, that is simply a matter of men being statistically more promiscuous, and being gay they didn't need to find promiscuous women for sex. At that point all it takes is one AIDS victim hookup with a bunch of people or shoot up drugs with a group of people sharing the same needle to turn the expansion of AIDS into an exponential explosion. I have also read that while AIDS is present in the hetero population the rate of transfer is lower than it is in the gay population.

Another odd side note, it has been found that certain blood lines which descended from survivors of the Black Death are essentially safe from contracting AIDS, and other lines may contract it, but do not pass it on and do not suffer from full blown AIDS. They have yet to isolate exactly how they are protected but they have found the correlation are it is the focus of soem cure researchers.

A million theories are out there. Heres one.
Central African tribes in the rain forests, ate primates as part their diet,apes baboons and some gorrilas, these animals contained AIV (Animal immuno Virus). This mutated in humans to HIV by 1950,s or so. How it spread to the rest of the world is obivious,what baffles me is how in the 1980,s it was more prevalent in the GAY community.Lets not think EVER its a Gay disease, just around that period it seemed to be prevelant amongst gays, then amongst Drug users. I suspect is was a man made virus, probably from the Nazi's. They were in Africa during WW ll and probably experimented on natives and/or primates. If they thought they were superior to Jews, Gypsy's and homosexuals you can imagine what they thought of blacks. And it seems they never got around to discovering an antidote for this horrible virus that has killed mega millions of people all over the world and leaving millions of children orphans.
