Israel is not the richest or the most powerful but they are sure mighty.I pray for them everyday.

this is a powerful question and like the rest of total generalizations...it spreads myths and myths about the non-reality. the question is not exact in its demand therefore there is no scientific exact answer. let me explain: Israel GNP per capita is higher than its neighbors -- but not high enough to equal some of the figures shown by the group of seven countries (most industrialized nations) this it is not the richest -- per capita basis. for sure. nor is it richest in total GNP -- compared to many countries in Europe and USA and Canada. these are facts not myths. now back again to the specific of your question power vs. country vs. richness is not defined -- and in my opinion they don't go always together. china is a very powerful country yet it is not the richest. Israel has lots of poor children in its midst-- thus not rich enough to distribute its GNP to the most needy and the list goes on from one exception to no generalizations. last but not least -- you are defining Israel as powerful and rich. hope so. considering the 100 million people as neighbors that wishes its total destruction. see the paradox. i rest my case and hopefully yours too.
ps. re. the iran question has nothing to do with the above -- ask the question and we shall try to answer. the world hopes that iran gives up on the power of nuclear arms for the good of humanity.

It is the richest among countries who receive economic aid from the USA. It is also one of the richest countries in the world in general, and also one of the most powerful in the Middle East. So why isn't it economically independent? I don't know.

No, not really. They are powerful in the sense that they have a solid partner in the US. In military sense they have modern weaponry and are superior to many countries. But the richest or most powerful? No!
