It's what Empires do. From Rome, Spain, Britain and now the US to China (soon) and whomever comes after them.

It's called GREED.

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of one plan for peace. "Books, not Bombs" won't work. The head mullahs won't let anyone read them. If they do, they poke their eyes out.

Here's the plan:

1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past &present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini and the rest of them 'good old boys'. We will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers.

5) No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere". They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if any anyway.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan ?? "

U.S. foreign policy is not dictated by personal whims. Korea and Vietnam were two conflicts that the United States chose to get involved in after Stalin reneged on his peace agreements with Roosevelt and Churchill. Truman's Containment Policy was put into effect after WWII and that policy was the "justification for Korea and Vietnam. Contain communism at all costs. Iraq does not fall under the blanket of the outdated "Containment Policy" so let's not blanket those three conflicts together because they are vastly different. The United Nations, while seemingly inactive carries a lot of sway in international affairs and after 12 years of Iraq defying arms sanctions, the United States decided to intervene. Your link between 9-11 and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is weak at best. The terrorists who bombed us on 9-11 were birthed out of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 1980's not Israel's formation in 1948.

You cant blame the US only. We are a small world and it is no longer feasible to mind your own business. Everything has a ripple effect no matter where in the world it happens. You might do well to remember the good things the US does instead of bashing it all the time.

I did not realize we were wanting to start a war with either North Korea or Iraq. I thought we were using "diplomacy". Isn't the UN also after Iran? Are you saying that since North Korea lied and broke their agreement with us that they would not pursue nuclear weapons, that their politics is none of our business? Iran broke their agreement on the nuclear proliferation treaty. Is that none of our business? How are we "encouraging" Israel to fight anyone? It seems that these nations that Israel attacks are doing enough "encouraging" themselves.

Somebody has to take on the bad guys.

And if the people in those countries could not even govern themselves effectively enough to avoid falling under tyranny, how in the world are they planning to take revenge on the most powerful nation on the planet?

Because these countries always ask for our help- money and food for free but why is it that we then aren't allowed to voice outr opinion or even uphold their word of a deal they made- oooooo that makes us bad people. I bet the asker of this question is a rich kid that took liberal classes in either High school or college and despite that fact that they live here are on a hate america kick

Nobility. America is being noble in killing those who have killed others. Would you say that the world would be better of with Saddam still in power? Or the Pres. of Iraq, or the dude from NKorea?

Your question does make it easier to question the existence of the UN.

The US and all other countries are controlled by Greed. We have no government really. We have a bunch of Puppets who wast billions of dollars every year supporting all the countries that hate us and vote against us at the UN. That is the first big failure that needs to be dismantled.

What you have to understand is America is brainwashed, they don't actually understand what you're saying. They worship the flag, are giving pledges of allegiance from an early age and are christian fanatics who think God is on their side.

God Bless America?

Well, what about the rest of us? Napalm?
