You are not a lone - the sponge is gross and a haven for bacteria anti-bacterial dish liquid or not.
If you are going to use a sponge try popping it into the dishwasher once a week to keep it clean and smelling fresh.
Don't do this with one of the handle kinds if it has dish soap in it as you will create an I Love Lucy - overflowing suds type of scenario!

you ought to not use sponges, as they carry germs. Even a small quantity of micro organism in cooked nutrition will without delay multiply on a heat, damp sponge. you ought to use dishcloths, or rags, and wash them after each and every use. Wash all your cooked products mutually, then wash all your uncooked products mutually. you ought to use the comparable cleansing soap water and dishcloth, as long as you have washed the cooked dishes first. in case you ought to use a sponge, you should sanitize it after each and every use by way of putting it interior the perfect rack of your dishwasher (even nevertheless in case you have been using a dishwasher, you probable does no longer be asking this question).

we have one of those and change the head every two weeks, but we also have another sponge for doing the counter tops as well as another sponge type thing for doing the pots, I dont think you are being OCD about it actually as MANY bugs can be carried in these things regardless of the dish soap that you use.

It's just another fancy cleaning product on the market. You don't have to use it, stick to the way you usually wash the dishes. There are more important things to worry about than the little handled object in the kitchen.

i use a regular scrub sponge that is treated with antibacterial properties..i think the brand s made by 3M..if the sponge is getting smelly, like mold, put n microwave for 20-30 seconds..should kill the pesky microbes..and always use anit-bac soap, rinse in hot water..
