When i am on a news page, just reading, instead of the pop-up popping up, the entire page is redirected to the ad, but it is not found, so i wind up at a search page from Dell that says it cannot find this ad. How do i make it stop doing this?? I have a pop-up blocker that seems to work, but it doesnt stop the page from being redirected. I just got a new computer and that is when it started.

Your PC is infected with a broswer hijacker.

Try this scan, its free, it removes
I-Worm/Stration · BackDoor.Generic3.GBB and .GBC · Worm/Generic.FX · Exploit.WMF

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

Make sure after you install it, that you update it too.

I think you need a popup blocker.
If your browser doesn't block the popups you should install an popup blocker application.
I usually use ZoneAlarm to do this.
Install ZoneAlarm, on privacy tab, set the Ad Blocking level to High.
It would be work.

what anti-virus do you have in place, this could be caused by a virus. A virus could cause your page being re-directed to things that they want you to look at.
