It simply doesn't say that. There are many who assume to interpret specific passages that way but there are many scholars who's job it is to interpret such things that do not see it that way.

well mathematical
2 plus's equal +
2 minis's equal positive
be true to your self the bible is a made up story
made up many years ago by humans
not by god
humans have been lien ,to one another for years passing on the writings in the bible as facts
think about every story in the bible
and think about it really happening
like Adam and eve, water into wine, blood into stone
really ask your self why was the bible made
to keep the kingdoms law full
a king set a pope that made the law
and made people believe that law was a holly law
after a while live was not worth living as heaven was better
so the popes of the time made up hell
and the devil or what ever they called him then
making the kingdom fall in line with the teachings and living by the bible many old society was born with these believes
they would fight about those believes
and after a while they settled down and believed all most the same believes what we see now
in the world we still have wars over religion and believe
so if you really think gay marriage is wrong is it
people sin all of the time by these old laws from over thousands of years ago laws that are still in place today by the governments that where set up on those believes
if there is a hell or heaven can any one prove it no
so if we can make a little heaven on this earth / place
by marriage and spending the time we have loving and caring the whole world will be a better place
remember the religions groups tell us this all of the time and it is one thing that could be true
GOD IS LOVE
so if we all show love no one goes to hell

What I really do not understand is why you think the bible is the law. The bible is a set of metaphors to guide Christians in how to lead as moral a life as they can. (morals by the way are a personal thing not a social thing.. most people don't understand the difference.)
While there is a religious ceremony for marriage, marriage is actually a contract between two people that they intend to "be of one flesh". If marriage was strictly a Christian thing it would not exist outside of Christianity.
There is nowhere that says gays will go to hell. (you can actually create your own hell right here on earth.. it is not a place, it is a state of being that is internal.) The metaphors in the bible that the less informed use to tag all gays as hell bound actually do not deal with sexuality, but rather deal with things like infidelity, idol worship and a variety of other "sins".
If you think about it, the human race is pretty much "immoral" in that we kill other living things for food that we might live. (this includes plants which are alive.. so vegans are not any holier than thou.)

To be honest hell is something that has been created by religion in order to organise society and ensure people conform to moral codes e.g. do this or you will go to a bad place. Therefore the simple answer is gay marriage is not half the issue people make it out to be. It is about wanting to celebrate your chosen love with family and friends and wanting to protect the person you love, legally if anything should happen to either of you. Simple, it is not about religious belief, it is about a human right. I am not sanctimonious and think my chosen lifestyle is better or worse than anyone elses', but I don't see why I should be any less able to protect the people I care about than anyone else.

I don't understand why there are some people out there that use the Bible as their crutch and excuse for their prejudice. I have read the Bible thoroughly and I have seen no mention of all gays go to Hell. Nor did I see any mention of all people who go to church will go to Heaven. There are a lot of straight murders, adulters, and child molesters who go to church. There are people that talk crap about other members of their church community. There are drunks and armed robbers who go to church. Where does it say in the Bible that bigots get a free ticket to Heaven just for hating gays? The fact of the matter is we're all God's children and we all have the same opportunities to get into Heaven. There's your REAL answer. Read your Bible again.

the real answer is the bible is a story book made up of fables from many years ago....what you are talking about is two people here and now.....so if they are happy it doesn't matter if they are gay or straight ...the bible should have no say in there lives...and i don't think in the bible it says if your gay you go to hell....get your facts right and leave people to lead there own lives

What the point of using the book reference , if it is not the real answers. What you want is real answer and the truth right....gay marriage can lead to heaven or hell really depends on individual thoughts and action.

The world will end in a nuclear holocaust approximately the same time gay marriage becomes acceptable. Coincidence? I think not.

why do religious people actually want people to go to hell?
jesus supposedly went through all that pain and suffering to offer a sacrifice so that anyone who believes in him will go to heaven. His salvation is a gift. You don't have to earn the gift. You just accept it and thank him for it.
