I am trading my car with someone. I would like to keep his car for a day or so and let him keep my car as well. is this a smart thing to do? we work in the same building for over 3 years but in a different department. any advice? thank you.

No. What if one of you gets in an accident? Do you want your insurance rates to go up because someone you worked in a building with wrecked your car? Let him test drive it with you in it, if he doesn't like it then the deal is off. You should do the same with him. Go for a test drive with him in it.

Be very careful.

What if this person you don,t know well actually just needs a part off of yours ? maybe he wants it and has a not so good one to put back on before he decides he,s not interested ?? I,d take some advice of above answers.ride with person to and from work ,you drive it,you decide..

yah now listen ill set you straight, never let anybody else keep your car over night, if they / you want to test eachothers car go with each hell it doesent take 600 miles to tell rather your getting a piece of monkey poop

if you are buying a car. it better to test drive it for few days to see if anything is wrong or does not feel normal.
