I am a seller, but so far no one has bid on anything. What suggestions do those of you who have purchased from EBay have in terms of what you look for before bidding?

Thanks

I've bought some things off of EBay and for the most part, had a really good time, good repertoire between buyers/sellers is really good and if there is a communication problem, for example maybe a buyer has a question and there's no response and then this buyer learns he/she is the winner and there's been no response from the seller, do you REALLY think that buyer is going to pay for something that they had a question on which was never answered? That happened once to me and that seller put a negative mark on my payment history. She even went so far as to file a grievance against me through EBay (which, I guess is something that can be done). But that is 1 negative out of many, but it's one that I keep in my mind when I want to bid on something. I'll check it out, consider pros and cons and if there is time, I'll ask questions. If I don't get answers, I simply won't bid anymore on it and generally lose the bid.

Since I like buying books, though, I've learned that I can often get a better deal when I go thru Amazon.com because then I know I don't have to bid on it. I can just buy it.

I like finding good deals...So I will read how the seller describes the item. Used/Like New/received as a gift...ect...I think I have bought my far amount of crap too from eBay but my choice mostly has to do with the seller's word.

Try listing on other auction sites such as EBid2Buy.com which has considerably lower fees allowing you to sell your items at a much lower price.
