Good question. I'm getting ready to move in two weeks, and I'm asking myself that very thing. I think it's because we see something we think we want or need, and we go ahead and get it. Then, later on, we spot something that we think is better or nicer, so we get that, too, and still hang onto the first item. Everything piles up and piles up.

We may be moving to a bigger house, but I am definitely downsizing. There are other people who need the items that I have around here, and that's exactly who's going to get them. We have plenty of charity-based thrift stores who can use this stuff, and I'm glad.

I'm Canadian and I have a lot of stuff to. North American society honours hard work. What's a better way to show how hard of a worker you are when you have stuff? I don't have like designer sh*it or anything, but I have my own tv, cell phone, video games, laptop, etc. Why? Because I like these things and worked my *** off to get them. It is a very rewarding feeling to FINALLY buy something you have been working hard and saving up for.

Also, I like to give people presents and people like getting me presents. So people also have stuff because others buy presents for them.
