My nephew died after being born prematurely at 20 weeks because he had LUTO while in utero. My sister and I have been searching for more information about it and any support groups for parents who have had children with LUTO or lost children to LUTO. Please help.

the rationalization for fetal LUTO is numerous. the main difficulty-loose reason in male fetuses is posterior urethral valves. Oligohydramnios (low amniotic fluid quantity, defined via fact the optimum vertical pocket below or equivalent to 2.0 centimeters) could then improve, and is linked with a worse analysis. In women human beings the main difficulty-loose reason is urethral atresia. different motives of fetal LUTO comprise yet are no longer constrained to obstructive ureterocele, urethral stricture or agenesis, persistent cholaca, and megalourethra. The ultrasound findings of lots of those circumstances are comparable, and it is continually perplexing to distinguish the rationalization for the urinary obstruction till after delivery. via fact there are diverse motives of LUTO, the analysis could be anticipated to be diverse watching the guy analysis. although, a significant factor that dictates perinatal consequence is the secondary issues of the obstruction (renal dysplasia and pulmonary hypoplasia). to keep away from those issues, quite a few procedures have been progressed to pass the blockage of urine on a similar time as the toddler remains interior the womb, with the wish that the back-tension on the kidneys could be avoided and the amniotic fluid quantity could be replenished to permit for greater customary lung progression.
