The egg came first, because dinosaurs were laying eggs long before chickens existed, and you didn't stipulate that it was a chicken egg.

The egg came first. Most species are cross breeds from the most primitive species. The first chicken would have been an egg layed by two different species breeding.

The chicken came first because if the egg had come first there would have been no chicken to incubate it.

i say the egg because before there was chicken there was an egg, you start off as an egg then you grow up and become a chicken.. you don't become a chicken then get an egg first! that's my opinion.
