I wonder that too. It's so easy to just hit 'check spelling' and not look like an idiot. *sigh*

The American education system is failing us...even Americans can't speak English anymore...much less write it.
Even an average 4th grader should be able to form a complete, grammatically correct sentence with no misspelled words...go figure. I hope that its just inability to type on a keyboard but I don't think that is the only problem because I listen to American people talk and know that they don't have a handle on grammar and have a limited vocabulary.
The most grammatically correct English usage is made by "those dreaded foreigners" who are willing to work hard to do things right...No wonder then that jobs are being outsourced! The jobs will go to the best communicators...foreign or no. No one really cares where your mama was born if there is no communication.
As an American ...I'm appalled!

I think generally people just don't read much anymore. That's one reason why many people can't spell worth crud. As for the spell check, many people also are not taught much about typing anymore. Some people think that technology will improve so much that they soon won't need to check their grammar or spelling.

They just don't teach proper english in school anymore. People with master's degrees don't know how to form proper sentences and use punctuation. Only English majors will tend to do those things correctly.

The only reason this is happening is, because as people we have grown lazy and want the easiest way in doing things.
Instead of taking the time to do things properly, we tend totry to just fit in.

Nooooo, all of us are not. However, I believe you have something there, as there must be a lot of "kids" who do not have supervision, and just write anything and everything, so they "don't" feel alone. If this "isn't" the case? Well, I suppose we simply have a lot of "immature" adults on line.

Because most people here seem to just type what's on their minds, then push enter without any thought of how comprehensible it'll be for those of us who aren't mindreaders.

In my case speed. Or for affect.
I have little time.
I have written a good deal of poetry over the years.
Bad or inappropriate grammar leaves an affect and character.
ya see what I mean Darlin?
