I am getting a lot of nigerian type scams on my yahoo acct lately - usually one a day. What can I do to report these F#$$kers other label it as spam? At least I am not gullible to buy into their load of crap but I bet there are a lot out there that do.

As one poster has said, if the emails are phishing-type message, report to the appropriate authorities.

You could also mark such messages and senders as spam for that Yahoo and other providers can watch out for them.

You could also investigate the use of spam blocking lists and software like DCC, spamassassin and Vipul's Razor (if you're tech-savvy that is).

However, I choose to take objection to kernel sanders' post that say everything from Nigeria is a fraud. I happen to be Nigerian and I am one of the overwhelming majority that are working at strippin our beloved nation of this sterotypical label!

True, quite a number of frauds originate in Nigeria, but it is the same everywhere else. There are good people and there are the bad.

You can report this crime online to the U.S. Treasury Department Secret Service ( Nigerian Frauds ) to:
419.fcd@usss.treas.gov

Generally there is an e-mail address given that you have to reply to. If it is a yahoo address, report to abuse@yahoo.com.
For hotmail address - abuse@hotmail.com and for msn address, report to abuse@msn.com. For some strange reason they don't use Gmail. Good luck.

just delete, mark as spam, or try and block the sender.

ignore them thats all you can do.

i know if they are ebay or paypal releated then you can foreward the email to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com and it will alert their fraud dept.
