Gun control in its contemporary meaning is the progressive confiscation of privately owned firearms. IMHO it causes crime because criminals know that law abiding citizens are effectively disarmed. Areas where gun laws allow liberal use of firearms such as concealed carrying of firearms tend to see fewer crimes of a violent nature in particular, fewer home invasions.
