Exercise and cut back on the carbs your body is craving. I know this sounds difficult but it is possible.

I normally can gain upto 7 pounds during and after PMS, but if I work out and cut back, I lose 2 pounds without any gain.

I can't always do it each month but most of the months I try to work out and eat right during this time because if I don't the pounds gained and not lost by next month increase.

It is something you are just going to have to do for yourself.

If the weight you're speaking of is anywhere from 2-5 pounds, it is likely "bloat," which is excess water built up in your system during the hormone fluctuations of menses, and is usually a sign of poor kidney function. It will disappear when your period ends.

If you eat an ENORMOUS amount more food during your cycle than you usually eat you may have to do some exercise to lose the weight.

However, any symptoms that are typically coined "PMS" symptoms are a sign that you have a hormone imbalance and possibly some deficiencies. It would be a good idea to seek the help of a Naturopath to determine the cause of the symptoms. They can help you through the process of balancing your hormones and reducing or eliminating improper food cravings, etc.

sometimes if I have a craving for sweets. I'll just chew it and then spit it out, while still savoring the flavor.
