I don't think she is representing anything. She is just an amazing woman who happens to be gay. I presonallly love her. She is straight-forward and tells people how it is. So many celebrities out there are fake. I love Rosie because she is down-to-earth and doesn't let fame go to our head. Rosie for President!!

I happen to like Rosie. I have never heard her claim to be representing the gay community. I have heard her give her opinions, and since she is a lesbian, it is the opinion of a lesbian. She has never claimed to be a spokesperson for more than Rosie.
I think she probably is a very good role model for young people. Your question is sort of like this:
How do you feel about Rush Limbaugh/ representing Americans?
or Richard Pryor/Arthur Ashe representing all African Americans?
Just by being in the public eye does not make someone a representative of a sub group they happen to belong to. (some would proclaim otherwise, but then some claim a lot of things.)

first of all, Rosie has performed fairly some solid for the GLBT community on the entire! Secondly, SHE by no potential BASHED the Asian community, she did a unfavorable impersonation, yet publicly apologized if she had harm absolutely everyone's emotions! Thirdly, Clay Akin has many times reported he's not gay, granted he comes off incredibly gay, yet each to their own. i do unlike Clay Akin, yet wish absolutely everyone might in basic terms back off the unfavorable youngster. definite, she's a loudmouth and obnoxious at time, yet she's have been given lots to assert! She's been at a loss for words, placed down, insulted, stated as names, publicly ridiculed..and yet she survives! She's a astounding mom, a unswerving companion and does fairly some truly incredible issues for the GLBT community! I wish absolutely everyone might back the heck off Rosie, provide the lady the credit she's DUE and characteristic somewhat appreciate. i think her frustration in being ridiculed inspite of the help of her very own community...shame on people who %. on her!

Totally! I love her. And her addition to The View brings a very interesting and cool perspective on the life of a committed same-sex relationship/marriage. I love that she calls Kelli her wife and Kelli's family her in-laws. It's really great! Plus the fact she talks about her kids and family life/activities all the time. Go Rosie!

Rosie only represents lesbians that are like her. When I become famous, I will represent lesbians that are similar to me. Not all lesbians are alike.

no, she does NOT represent me, i think she's a hypocritical ******. she pretended to be straight for the whole run of her show, kissing straight peoples asses, even to the point of pretending to want to have sex with tom cruise (a big closet case) she waited until her show was cancelled and she had no other opportunity (movie career dead) to come out. it was strictly to jump start a failing career and generate controversy. she could have done some good, while her show was on (as ellen did) but she choose to live a lie.......plus she played americas sweetheart on the show and then came out as uber ****** after, will the real rosie please stand up.

Not really. Nothing against her, but she's not really my cup of tea.
In fact, I really hate it that anyone represents GBLTQ's, because that means that anytime they screw up, we get the blame. Whatever they do is extrapolated to cover us all. And that's not right.
Still, if I had to choose one person, it would probably be Ellen. Love that girl! She just doesn't come off as harshly to me as Rosie.

Rosie represents her viewpoint. That's it. Her homosexuality is simply a part and parcel of her viewpoint and should not be taken to represent any more than her opinion.

No because she's confused herself, she's not even a real lesbian because I remember her admitting on 20/20 (or a show similar) that she used to be attracted to men a long time ago, then something changed. She made a decision, I suspect out of sexist thoughts, to be only with women. Let a REAL lesbian represent Lesbians. I wish better straight guys would represent straight guys, but most are idiots, so I have to constantly remind women that not all straight men are d*cks.
