I'm working in a hotel.We have clients from all around the world, usa,far east, germany, ... and Italians are the ones who almost doesnot give tips. And in tourism market they are known like this.

In Italy, waiters have their salary which is highest than the American one, if you took a trip to Italy you'd see that Italians don't tip Italian waiters and they're fine with this.
I worked as a waitress and I was never offended if people didn't tip!
You expect Italian to learn your culture when visiting your country and I ask you back why we should do it, if Americans or other foreigners don't even bother to learn our cultureS, for example an advanced country should know that we don't have the same accent all over the country, yet you keep on portraiting Italians with the same southern accent in northern and central Italy doesn't exist, why don't you start respecting our cultures, for a start?

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo not true! If you earn your tip you get a good tip, but if you don't deserve it you are not getting it. I always give 25% for great service, then as the service deminishes so does the tip, rarely have I left no tip. In those times that I did not leave the tip it was usually because the server had major attitude issues.

hm I dated a Italian once and he always tipped. Maybe you got a cheap Italian ;o)
